M.Ed, LPC Intern
** Under the supervision of Emilee Strain, M.S., LPC-S**
Hello! I am Cyra Crouch.
I am credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern and am under the supervision of Emilee Strain (M.S., LPC-S). I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX and went on to gain 7 years of experience as an elementary and secondary school counselor. In that role, I provided individual, group and guidance counseling on a variety of topics relevant to young children and adolescents. While being in the school setting I realized that I missed working with clients doing hands on therapy on an ongoing basis and decided to begin gaining my clinical hours.
I enjoy working with children and adolescents (ages 9+) on social, emotional, and academic issues. I believe in equipping children and adolescents with the tools they need to promote healthy peer to peer and peer to adult relationships, to resolve conflict, as well as cope with anxiety, depression and life transitions. Additionally, I offer support in study habits and career counseling. I also enjoy working with parents. Parenthood can present us with ever-changing obstacles. I believe that providing opportunities to sort through those obstacles creates a healthy parent-child relationship.
The counseling process can be an empowering, therapeutic and meaningful experience that can change your life. My goal is to help you navigate obstacles, transitions, and life-changing events by providing you with a unique and positive perspective that draws from your personal experiences and strengths. I would like the opportunity to assist you in overcoming personal hurdles that may leave you feeling stuck, stagnant and unsatisfied.
In my free time, I enjoy outings with my family, catching up with friends, trying new recipes, and crafting with my kids.
